The Holiday Season is upon us and the United Way of Delaware, DEAN, 211, NCALL and Dover Public Library have partnered for this momentous season of giving to ensure –children experiencing poverty– are not forgotten during the holidays. We are pleased to announce that we are having our First Annual Holiday Coat Drive for children in Kent County this year.
The need is great and we cannot do it without you! Currently, 17% of all children in the United States — nearly 12 million kids total — are living in poverty. In Delaware alone, we currently have over 32,000 school-aged children living in poverty. For many families struggling to make ends meet, providing holiday gifts and meeting basic needs for their kids can be overwhelming.
Your generous donation will help ease this burden on those families this holiday season. We are collecting coats to provide children the gift of warmth this winter.
Your gift of a new coat for a child ages Birth to 13 will ensure our most vulnerable population is prepared for the brutal winter to come. We need your help reaching our goal to provide 200 coats and toys to the community on December 11th, 2021.
To participate just register here and purchase a coat for a child in need.
Drop off between November 8th and December 8th at 363 Saulsbury Rd, Dover, DE 19904 during regular office hours.
