In partnership with the NALC, UFCW, AFL-CIO and United Way, Stamp Out Hunger is the nations largest food drive, providing non-perishable food items to local food banks in all 50 states.
Volunteers would be responsible for moving items collected from postal trucks to the Food Bank truck, so yes, it’s manual labor and it’s a rain or shine event. there is also an opportunity for individuals with large vehicles to serve as “runners”. Basically, meeting letter carriers to unload their vehicles while they are on the road…sometimes they collect a lot food and need to empty earlier.
