Please join us for this Poverty Simulation hosted by Smyrna School District in partnership with First State Community Action and United Way of Delaware. It is an empathetic experience designed to provide you with a greater connection to communities and individuals it serves. This poverty simulation also provides opportunities to connect employees to advocacy, volunteerism and address the needs of individuals and families in Delaware, and especially those residing in high need communities.
At the Poverty Simulation you will be in a community support role. The Community Support Team is the backbone of the Simulation. Here you will embody roles such as Teacher, Pawn Shop Owner, Police Officer, Social Service Worker, and more. These roles will keep the Simulation authentic for the individuals role playing as family units. You will receive more details during our Community Support training the day of the event.
Thanks in advance for your support. If you have any questions, please contact Deborah Reeves - dreeves@uwde.org or Mariah Carr – mcarr@uwde.org.
