West Side Grows Together, Urban Bike Project and the Open Streets Steering Committee are kicking off the first of 6 citywide events on May 15th from 2-6pm along Downtown Market Street. Open Streets are streets that are temporarily closed to vehicle traffic to create space for people of all ages and abilities to walk, run, bike, rollerblade, and otherwise enjoy time outside. COVID-19 protocols will be practiced.
Event Activities include:
- Outdoor fitness classes, children’s activities, and information provided by the YMCA
- Free bicycle repairs provided by Urban Bike Project
- Cooking demos and free giveaways of recipe cards and ingredient kits provided by the Food Bank of Delaware
- 1stand 2nddoses of the Pfizer COVID vaccine and COVID PCR testing provided by CarePortMD
- First Aid and CPR informational tent provided by Francis Healthcare
We are looking for folks to help volunteer to assist with set-up, welcoming, encouraging COVID-19 protocols, surveying, and cleaning up. Please consider signing up for a 2 hour shift on this link!
