Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware has been serving Delaware children and youth since 1964. Our Mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our Vision is that all youth achieve their full potential.
We are currently housing a wait list of 111 children in the state of Delaware. The need for mentors is real and the time is now. Help us reach our perfect vision in 2020 that every child who wants a mentor has one. We are looking for Allies not saviors, we are big not small, we do not create potential, we defend it. Join us and together we will be Defenders of Potential.
We provide Bigs (mentors) to littles/youth via school based and community based programs. A school based Big would chose one of the 5 schools we serve and volunteer once a week for 45 minutes to an hour. They meet with their little during their lunch break. Community based mentoring is done outside of school hours and requires 3-4 visits a month.
The goal is to provide children with a positive role model.
