A ‘Climate’ Conversation With Parents: Co-Hosted with Delaware Interfaith Power & light

April 21st A ‘Climate’ Conversation with Parents Time 5:30-7:30pm -- Zoom

Topic: A Climate Conversation: Electrification of School Buses and it’s health benefits

It's time for our iconic yellow school bus to go green! Every day, millions of our children hop onto school buses that run on dirty diesel engines. Diesel buses create tailpipe pollution, which causes a wide range of health issues. Tailpipe pollution from buses is shown to trigger asthma attacks, interfere with lung development, contribute to cancer — and even reduce children’s ability to learn.

Electric school buses can help protect children’s health while helping Delaware reach its climate and environmental justice goals. Delaware Interfaith Power & Light and United Way of Delaware Invites you to join the panel of experts to learn how we can advocate for cleaner buses to protect our children's health and future.

Panel discussion will be followed by a small group discussion!

Panelist:

  • Tim Farquer, Superintendent, Williamsfield School, IL, Electric School Bus- Senior Advisor, World Resource Institute
  • FrancineDavis-Motley, Communications Coordinator, United Methodist Women
  • Alison Wiley, Manager of the Electrification, Education and Equity Project, The Environmental Center
  • Richard Johnson, Strategic Accounts Manager for Nuvve Holding Inc., CA; Vehicle to Grid Technology, University of Delaware
  • Anna Quisel, MD, Retd. Physician, Christiana Care
