Disaster Relief: Sussex County Tornado Clean-up Support

Support our Sussex County neighbors by helping with the clean-up and debris left from the tornado on April 1, 2023. 

“VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE IN A DISASTER AREA AND MAY MAKE AREAS OF CLEAN UP ON UNEVEN OR POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS GROUND”  

Clean-Up Support roles and responsibilities 

  • Gathering branches, and other vegetative debris
  • Working with groups to move large items to pile and/or dumpster.
  • Physical cleaning of disaster and/or debris of both internal and external property
  • Lifting of debris both building and vegetative of less than fifty (50) pounds.

Please complete the Volunteer release waiver

Volunteers will need the following:

Closed toes shoes.

Comfortable clothing

Sunscreen/hat recommended.

Work gloves, If none available they will be provided, as available

Heavy lifting role requirement– 50 pounds and more

Medium lifting role requirement- under 50 pounds
